Introduction
A fictional character in Naoko Takeuchi’s Sailor Moon manga series, Rei Hino (, Hino Rei, renamed Raye Hino in some English-language adaptations) is known as Sailor Mars (, Sr. Mzu). As a member of the Sailor Soldiers, female supernatural fighters who defend the Solar System from evil, Rei is her alternate human identity in the series.
Usagi has uncovered the second Sailor Soldier, Rei. She has psychic clairvoyance, fire-related abilities, and the Ofuda charm. Rei appears in two distinct manga short stories in addition to the main Sailor Moon series. The first, Casablanca Memories, is all about her and what happened to her; Minako Aino shares the second, Rei and Minako’s Girls School Battle. Additionally, several image songs featuring her character have been released, including three single CDs.
Rei was based on Takeuchi’s own experience as a Miko. Rei’s high heels were the only thing that remained when Takeuchi decided to make all of the Guardians wear the same outfits. She was originally designed with her unique outfit. Her personality was drastically altered in the anime adaptation at the behest of KunihikoIkuhara, turning her from a cold and distant character in the manga into a stubborn one.
The appearance of Sailor Mars
Sailor Mars has purple eyes and straight, long black hair with a purple shine. She is approximately 5 feet, 3 inches tall, or 160 cm. She frequently appears in either her winter school uniform or her red-and-white traditional priestess uniform. She wears a white short-sleeved sailor uniform with a dark red ribbon in the centre, a grey skirt, white knee-high socks, and black shoes in her summer uniform. Her formal vest is a light grey colour. Dark grey with red linings distinguishes her winter and summer school uniforms.
Her primary casual ensemble includes a purple skirt, orange stockings, pale yellow knee-length heeled boots, and a teal leather jacket with an orange turtleneck.
In Sailor Stars, her winter school uniform is identical to her middle school uniform with a minor colour change.
Characteristics of Sailor Mars
Rei is a fiery priestess who is obsessed with boys and has aspirations to become a singer, songwriter, model, voice actress, and eventually a married person.
Her relationship with Usagi was fraught, and they frequently disagreed. At one point, Rei even admitted that she did not think Usagi was a good leader. Regardless, she holds her in high regard.
She seemed to show her love for the people she cares most about in odd ways, like joking with Yuuichirou or teasing Usagi, which often hurt her feelings, especially at the beginning of the series.
Even though Rei and Usagi had disagreements from time to time, she cared a lot about Usagi, valued her friendship highly, and frequently appeared closer to her than the other Senshi. In the Stars season, she was the first person Usagi told that Mamoru hadn’t contacted her. Rei was so upset, she exclaimed, “Why did Usagi have to suffer so much?”) Rei, in contrast to the other girls, attends a nun-run private Catholic school. Together with her grandfather, who was the head priest, she works at Hikawa Shrine. Rei’s Sailor Mars power is reflected in her personality. She is a hothead who quickly spirals into a rage. She occasionally exhibits harshness toward others.
